For me, photography is such an incredible art. I won’t bore you with “new-agey” descriptions about the essence of photography, becoming one with nature or any of that other babble, but there sure is something enjoyable when the right lighting intersects with a pleasing composition. Even the vigil required to capture the right light is an enjoyable, often peaceful and contemplative time.

Photographs have become magical to me. Even in this day of HD video, I still prefer photographs. They can capture subtle moments of time yet be so profound in the emotions they convey. We live in a time where we are swimming in digital images created with ubiquitous capture devices (phones, small digital cameras, etc.), causing many pro photographers to lament bygone days, yet there is something magical about a well-composed and lighted photograph that captures our emotions. Those photographs are why I enjoy photography.
